Barry started cycling when he was 3 years old and was immediately hooked on bikes. From street bikes to road bikes Barry graduated to club cycling and amateur bike racing at an early age and decades later Barry’s enduring passion for cycling remains. He is a well-known fixture on the local cycling scene and still competes regularly in open and masters bike racing. Barry is a member of Dublin Wheelers CC which is one of Ireland’s oldest cycling clubs and is a former board member of the Irish Veteran Cyclists Association Ltd. Barry like most cyclists enjoys coffee and is a City & Guilds qualified barista.
Following on from a successful business career, Barry has followed his true passion in setting up Velo Rides 4 U providing tailored cycle training experiences to fellow cycling enthusiasts who feel just as passionate about cycling as he does. Whether you’re based oversees and are coming to Ireland to work /vacation or you live locally why not experience the best of what cycle training has to offer in Ireland in the company of an experienced and knowledgeable local training partner.

Velo Rides 4 U Ireland Ltd was established in 2019 and we offer tailored road cycle training experiences to cycling enthusiasts, in the greater Dublin region whether you’re here for a short stay or you are living here locally. With many decades of cycling experience we know and love cycling and appreciate what you, as a fellow cycling enthusiast need from a training ride. Our aim is to maximise your in the saddle time so that you can make the best of what limited time is available to you
What we do
Velo rides is your ‘one stop shop’ , working with you and providing everything that you need to have a memorable training ride. We take the hassle out of things for you by planning your route, suppling a custom fit high performance bike and accompanying you throughout your ride. Your primary focus should be on enjoying your cycling time.

The greater Dublin region not only includes Dublin City and county it also includes a number of neighbouring counties such as Wicklow, Louth, Meath and Kildare. Within this large geographic area there is a fantastic variety of terrain and scenery which should cater to everyone’s tastes. Whether it’s the wild and mountainous routes of Wicklow, the rolling countryside of Kildare and Meath, windswept coastal routes or the short and sharp bergs of north county Dublin, we have routes that will suit everyone. We pick the best coffee stops along the way so that you’ve always got plenty of fuel in the tank.
